My favorite Matt story is when he took the time to sit me down and explain how page rank and the algorithm work. The idea of page rank and play-doh was born from this, which I ended up molding in my apartment and photographing for a post. I love this moment, because it demonstrates some of Matt's best traits--he is a teacher, a brilliant communicator, and inclusive.

I've appreciated every moment I had knowing how many of us craved that time for guidance and help, but I was always most impressed by the sheer magnitude of his reach across so many populations and parts of the world. As others have mentioned, our government is in better hands with Matt there--I hope many lives are positively affected--many already have been. Not just webmasters, but people on the internet who may otherwise be taken advantage of, hacked, stolen from, miss their benefits, not know how to file for assistance, and more. Matt is a servant working hard for all of us and to make the world a better place.

Thank you. You're an inspiration and as a student, you inspire me more in your choices and character than the moments of spam team assistance and education (though those were always appreciated, too!).
