I have always been struck with how humble Matt has always been. For most of us who have been in this industry for a long time, Matt embodied the Google algorithm for better or for worse. Yet, Matt never seemed to want to own that title. He would spend hours answering questions at conferences, post responses to comments on his blog and make himself available on email. The fact that he left Google to solve a public problem in the government just shows what a humble and giving person he was. Thank you Matt for teaching us what real humility looks like!
