I never got to know Matt very well personally, but we’ve crossed paths a number of times at SMX and other events, and he has always impressed me with his patience, kindness and willingness to have conversations. This year at SMX Advanced he spoke about the inspiring work he has been doing on vets.gov, how simple and effective changes can make it easier for veterans to discover and manage benefits. He didn’t have to come to SMX, he didn’t even come to talk about search or Google. But what he did was inspire a big room of people to recognize that the work we do every day can make a big difference. Thank you Matt, you’ve made made so many people feel included and valued beyond the search tribes.
